Always wanted to know how damaging the touring schedule of your favorite artist is for the environment? Well, thanks to Earth Destroyers made by Paul Lamere now you can find find out. The app is one of many cool apps that were made during last weekend’s Music Hackday in London.

After being inspired by visiting the Music Hackday myself earlier this year, a Music Hackday event anywhere in the world now means checking out live streams, #musichackday tweets and developer blogs to find out cool new music related hacks. After checking out the hacks of the Music Hackday London, these are my favorite picks:

Earth Destroyers
. Fill in the name of an artist and the app calculates how eco friendly his or her touring schedule is.

TrackDropper/Piracy. Drop a track from your music collection on your current location via the Android app and allow other users to pick up this track if they visit the same location. Sounds like a great idea for promotion and gaming purposes! Check out a demo video over here.

    It’s interesting to see how far big artists are travelling. It’s also worrying to see how far companies in the live sound industry are travelling week in week out, up and down the country just to do the gigs.
