Mixtape Monday: Bullion

What do Stevie Wonder, Brian Eno and Paul White have in common? They are all featured in the ‘Sometimes Silver Moretimes Gold’ mix by Bullion that I’d like to share with you today on this Mixtape Monday. As the title of the mix reveals, Bullion provides an eclectic mix of golden tunes consisting of pop, soul, hip-hop and African music.

Bullion is the alter ego of Nathan Jenkins, a great London-based producer that can be categorized in the beat-generation alongside producers such as Hudson Mohawke, Flying Lotus, and his label mate Paul White. He has released about half a dozen splendid EPs, and has remixed tracks for among others Tricky and Osborne.

This mix is one of my favorite eclectic mixtapes. It was recorded for the Red Bull Music Academy Radio in 2009, and consists of a wide variety of tracks, all having one thing in common: Gold. Check out this 24-carat mix!
