Mixtape Monday: Funk D’Void

After the mixtapes of newcomers that were featured here during the last weeks, this week’s Mixtape Monday features a mix by someone that has been around in the music scene for years now and that needs little introduction: Funk d’Void. A classic Detroit techno mixtape laden with some beautiful strings.

Over the years, Lars Sandberg aka Funk D’Void has had a string of hits that have all greatly influenced the techno scene and my own taste of music as well. Diabla, Way Up High, and All That Matters are all examples of tracks that Sandberg produced almost a decade ago and that turned into evergreens.

Next to being a critically acclaimed producer Funk D’Void is also a great DJ which can be heard in the mixtape. During the last dark and snowy weeks, this quality Detroit techno mix has been bringing some warmth inside. The mix is titled ‘King Of The Strings’ and as this title already reveals, it contains a fine selection of spheric techno from among others Vince Watson, Carl Craig, and the man himself. Let’s go!
